Lifeboats are useless without rescue
The only ships show up for salvage
When setting sail on the St. Louis
We all knew what consequences could be
With the crew we had at the controls
There's no harbor age for the USA-holes
I doubt there's a benign God to save our souls
Cuz no one else is gonna save the USA-holes

It occurred to me that these forums are how I used to find out about all the shows I used to go to. So I thought I'd post this one and see if anyone else is going. This band is awesome live and I highly recommend it.

That a label's success is not necessarily equivalent to its message board participation.

On the back of the sleeve, it usually says underneath each artist, "used courtesy of [record label]." Typically (or at least on the '08 and '09 comps), the first handful of tracks are all Topshelf bands. Anything after that which doesn't have a "courtesy of" disclaimer is probably self-released.

Also, I have no idea who Nate Ruess is. So that's just general info. I don't really know the answer to your question specifically.

many of the artists on topshelf samplers are not actually signed to topshelf. topshelf wants to help support local artists who are not on the label.
